
The Lakeside Heritage Society, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Lakeside and the Marblehead Peninsula. The society's Sunday afternoon lectures, historic Lakeside walking tours, museum displays and archived documents are available to anyone with a valid Lakeside gate pass at no additional cost.
The Heritage Society lecture series on various historic topics related to Northwest Ohio is presented at 2 pm Sunday in the Fountain Inn Green Room. Check the weekly Lakesider newspaper for details.
The Lakeside Heritage Society offers free historic walking tours of Central Lakeside businesses and cottages at 10:30 am Wednesday. Walking excursions of South, Middle and East Lakeside ar also available on a limited basis. Special tours may be arranged, contact 419.798.5519.
Heritage Hall Museum is located in the historic Lakeside Chapel, built in 1875, where Lakeside's unique history is preserved and exhibited. Displays include artifacts, records, photographs, antiques and memorabilia.
Heritage Hall Museum, open to all visitors without charge, is located at 238 Maple Avenue. Visit the museum 10 am-4:30 pm Tuesday-Saturday (closed 12-1 pm) and 1:30-4:30 pm Sunday. The Archives is open 9 am-12 pm Tuesday-Saturday; for extended research, contact 419.798.5519.
