In order to provide quality entertainment, speakers, recreational activities and maintenance to our grounds and buildings, Lakeside is a gated community. Guests are required to pay a gate pass fee to enter the grounds during the Chautauqua summer season (June 23-Sept. 3, 2012).
By purchasing a gate pass, you are entitled to free participation in a wide range of Chautauqua programs, including religious life lectures, educational seminars, Hoover Auditorium performances and specific recreational activities. To learn more about the value of your gate pass, please read the What Does My Gate Pass Fee Pay For page of our website.
There are several different gate passes to choose from depending on how long you are visiting Lakeside. We offer a daily gate pass, which is valid from the time of purchase until 7 pm the following day; a weekly gate pass, which is for seven days; partial day pass, which is a 3-hour pass (not valid at Hoover Auditorium shows) or a season gate pass. To park your vehicle on the grounds, an auto pass is required. To view all of the gate pass and auto fees, please visit the Admission Fee Schedule page of our website.
If you would like to buy gate passes in advance online, please allow a minimum of two weeks for processing. You also have the option to purchase gate passes upon entering the grounds or complete and return the Gate Pass Order Form by mail.
Lakeside requires a reduced gate pass fee for Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-28, 2012). This gate pass fee underwrites the programming provided during the holiday weekend, including a Summer Opening Ceremony with the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats, recreational activities, Intergenerational Learning Seminar, Lakeside Volunteer Fair, Lakeside Fund Walk/Run, Sunday worship services, performance by the Beach Party Boys - Tribute to the Beach Boys and much more.
Lakeside also offers a reduced gate pass fee during Senior Venture Week, which is Week 10 (August 26-September 3) of the Chautauqua summer season. Limited programming will available in the Steele Memorial Bandstand, as well as educational seminars specifically focused to Senior Venture Week. To view reduced rate gate fees, please visit the Admission Fee Schedule page of our website.
Guests may purchase reduced rate gate passes upon entering the grounds, buy gate passes in advance online (please allow a minimum of two weeks for processing) or order gate passes through the mail with the Gate Pass Order Form. Purchasing a season gate pass in advance grants admission to the Lakeside grounds on Memorial Day Weekend.
Please remember that gate pass revenue covers only a fraction of the cost of presenting Lakeside’s quality Chautauqua program each summer. Lakeside’s programming is possible only through the philanthropic support of its patrons and we thank you for your continued support.
