An unrestricted bequest is one intended for the best use of and as determined by Lakeside. Such a bequest might read:
"I give to Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation, Lakeside, Ohio, the sum of $__ (or __% of my estate or of the trust assets, or all of the residue of my estate or of the trust assets)."
Donors may restrict the usage of their bequests. A restricted bequest might read:
"I give to Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation, Lakeside, Ohio, the sum of $__ (or __% of my estate or of the trust assets, or all of the residue of my estate or of the trust assets) to be used by Lakeside for _____ (state the specific purpose)."
An endowment bequest might read:
"I give to Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation, Lakeside, Ohio, the sum of $__ (or __% of my estate or of the trust assets, or all of the residue of my estate or of the trust assets) to establish a permanent fund in its endowment which shall be known as the _____ Fund, the income of which shall be used by Lakeside."
Donors my restrict the use of endowment bequests. A restricted endowment bequest might right:
"I give to Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation, Lakeside, Ohio, the sum of $__ (or __% of my estate or of the trust assets, or all of the residue of my estate or of the trust assets) to establish a permanent fund in its endowment which shall be known as the _____ Fund, the income of which shall be used by Lakeside for _____ (state the specific purpose). If the Foundation determines that the need for funds for that purpose no longer exists, the Foundation is authorized to use the income otherwise in the best interests of Lakeside, maintaining the identity of the Fund."
