Lakeside and Danbury Township Consolidate
Construction and Zoning Regulations

Extensive discussions between the Lakeside Chautauqua Board of Directors and the Danbury Township Zoning Board have resulted in aligning the Lakeside Code of Construction and Danbury Zoning Regulations. Danbury Township has designated an L District, which includes all of Lakeside, as a specific zoning district. This should result in less confusion, and easier navigation, for Lakeside homeowners who are planning renovations or new construction.

A copy of the complete township zoning resolution may be viewed at www.danburytownship.com  by clicking on "Zoning Resolution." A copy may also be purchased from the Danbury Zoning Inspector for a nominal fee.

A copy of the Land Use Plan can be purchased from the Regional Planning Commission located at the Ottawa County Courthouse, 315 Madison St. in Port Clinton or by calling (419) 734-6780.

A copy of the Revised Lakeside Rules, Regulations and Code of Construction are available at the Lakeside Chautauqua Office and will also be included in the upcoming 2012 Lakeside Property Owners Association Directory.  

Danbury Township Zoning Regulation amendments pertaining to setbacks, lot coverage and other building requirements in Lakeside (the Danbury Township L District) were adopted in February 2012.

Lakeside Leaf Pick-Up

The Lakeside Maintenance Department will provide free leaf pick-up for property owners April 23-27 and April 30-May 4. Please bag leaves in yard bags until April 23 to avoid leaf distribution in the streets. Please do not place branches, stones, green vegetation or other foreign objects in the bags; this will damage the equipment and/or possibly cause injury to the operator.

Curbside Recycling Service

Lakeside's recycling service will begin on Friday, May 4. This service is offered on Friday mornings for five months  (May-September). The last day for the curbside recycling service will be Friday, Sept. 28.

Danbury Township Leaf Drop-Off

Danbury Township will be accepting leaves at its Brush Drop-Off, located at 310 Bridge Road (SR 269 South), during the months of April and May only. Residents must use biodegradable bags or loose leaves. The township has a limited supply of biodegradable bags which are free to residents. Please pick up the bags at the Danbury Township Zoning Office, 5972 E. Port Clinton Eastern Road, Monday-Friday between 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Limit: 12 bags per household.

Danbury Township Brush Drop-Off Now Open

Township residents are to drop off tree branches and limbs at the Brush Drop-Off, located at 310 Bridge Road (SR 269 South). Please do not bring tree stumps or grass clippings. Danbury Township is only able to process tree branches and limbs. No contractors please - this service is for residents only.

Danbury Township Cleanup Week, April 16-20

Dumpsters will be located at Township Hall, 5972 E. Port Clinton Eastern Road, for the Danbury Township Cleanup Week, April 16-20. Residents are permitted to dispose of household items, steel, metal and appliances. Employees will be on hand from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. to help unload materials. Danbury Township will pay for Freon removal from appliances. Cleanup ends at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20.

Please do not bring tires, brush, oil, paint, batteries, propane tanks, boats or vehicles. Danbury Township will be hosting two other cleanup weeks July 16-20 and October 15-19. Please take advantage of these free opportunities.

Island View Trash Announcement

Due to Island View construction, Island View trash pickup will be on Friday beginning Feb. 10 and continuing until construction is complete.

2011-12 House Watch Form

While away from Lakeside during the holiday season, keep your cottage protected and monitored by Lakeside Security. House Watch is a free service provided by Lakeside during the winter months, available to property owners. Download and return an updated House Watch Form to the Lakeside Association, 236 Walnut Avenue, Lakeside, OH 43440 or fax to 419-798-5033. Forms must be resubmitted each year.
