Lakeside Environmental Stewardship Society (LESS)

Lakeside Environmental Stewardship Society (LESS) is an organization of friends of the environment.  Their goals are to increase awareness of the environment for Lakeside guests and residents and to foster increase environmental activism as people return to their homes. They partner with the Environmental Committee in providing Wednesday afternoon lectures about the environment and sponsor field trips. LESS sponsors a number of programs for young people and lead tree walks throughout Lakeside. They promote service projects about environmental stewardship, such as programs on information and sale of compact flourescent light bulbs and on household hazardous waste disposal (with the local solid waste authority).  LESS' membership is open to all who enjoy the wonders of God's creation.  Dues are nominal; LESS operates on donations and fundraising projects.
