
The Lakeside Women’s Club at Green Gables has been an integral and vital part of the Lakeside experience since 1928.
Any woman may become a member upon payment of $15 annual dues. Any man may become an associate member upon payment of annual dues. Associate members are not entitled to vote but, like members, are entitled to attend all Monday book discussions, Tuesday programs and Friday book reviews, All activites are held at Green Gables, the large, two-story cottage behind Orchestra Hall. The address is 161 Walnut Avenue.
Guests who are not members are always welcome, but are required to pay $1 for each program they attend. Please see the weekly Lakesider newspaper for details about topics and speakers for all Tuesday programs, as well as Friday book reviews.
The 'After Lunch Bunch' book discussion group meets alternate Mondays at 1:30 pm. Attendees are asked to read the books prior to the discussions. The books that will be discussed for 2012 are: Pride and Prejudice, Clara and Mr. Tiffany, The Whistling Season, A Lily of the Field, and My Name is Mary Sutter. The 'Breakfast Bunch' book discussion group meets in members' homes at 8:15 am on Wednesdays. Prior reading of the book is required. The books selected for 2012 are:

In addition to adult programs, the LWC sponsors the Lakeside Girls' Club for girls ages 5-12. Girls meet at 1:30 pm on the following Mondays during the season: July 2, July 16, July 30 and August 13.
The LWC also hosts an annual Tour of Homes. This year, the tour will be Thursday, July 26. Advance tickets are available at Green Gables.
All Lakeside guests are welcome to borrow books from the LWC library at Green Gables. See schedule below for library hours. Readers can buy pre-owned books at the Book Sale on August 5, 2012.
The LWC also has a thrift shop at Green Gables called “The Corner Cupboard.” Feel free to come and browse. Purchases are made through an honor system.
The Lakeside Girls’ Club is for girls ages 5-11 years. The cost is $2 per event, and girls are to make their reservations before the event at the Lakeside Women’s Club, 161 Walnut Ave., also known as “Green Gables.” All events are scheduled for 2 p.m.
Lakeside Girls’ Club Beach Party: Girls will create their own flip flops, make sand art masterpieces and feast on tropical flavored sno-cones.
Lakeside Girls’ Club Science Lab: Girls will become scientists as they conduct experiments that include making a delicious treat.
Lakeside Girls’ Club Garden Party: Girls will join others in our garden for punch and cookies, a garden inspired craft and activities.
Lakeside Girls’ Club Princess Party: Wear your PJs and join other girls in a princess movie, complete with movie treats and a princess trivia game.
