Dear Lakesiders,
The ‘Stay at Home’ order that expired at midnight yesterday, Thursday, April 30, has been replaced by Governor Mike DeWine with the ‘Stay Safe Ohio’ order, which will be in place through Friday, May 29. We are still reviewing the details of this new order, which was made public today, and will provide further guidance regarding how this new order affects Lakeside in our communications next week.
In his press conference today, Governor DeWine also indicated that we should expect numerous revisions to the ‘Stay Safe Ohio’ order throughout May as the State adjusts the order to include the opening of additional types of businesses and activities.
Although some businesses, including the Lakeside offices, will be allowed to open over the next few weeks, the ‘Stay Safe Ohio’ order still limits all travel not associated with a permitted activity and requires 14 days quarantine for those traveling into Ohio from other states. Social distancing guidelines still apply, and Lakeside’s recreational venues are not available for use, even if you have your own equipment.
Like we’ve shared before, Lakeside’s summer programming season will not be the same this year. It will look different. It will feel different. It will not be as big or as grand. It will not be business as usual. However, despite what we do know, it has not diminished our commitment to creating a season.
Similarly, operation of our gates and the fees charged for admission will also not be business as usual and will need to be adjusted this summer. Therefore, the Lakeside gates will be in operation from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend (excluding Monday, Aug. 31 through Thursday, Sept. 3, which will be free admission and parking).
Operation of the gates is considered paramount to:
- Controlling access to Lakeside events and venues,
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment for all, especially the kids that roam free within Lakeside during the summer months, and
- Managing access to Lakeside of vendors, contractors and other service providers who typically have limitations on their hours or days they can operate
This summer, Lakeside will be offering simplified and reduced pricing of Daily Chautauqua Passes:
- $10 Daily Adult and $6 Daily Youth (ages 13-24) pricing for weeks where there will be little to no programming within Lakeside. This pricing will start Memorial Day weekend, beginning Friday, May 22, and continue through at least Friday, June 19.
- $17 Daily Adult and $10 Daily Youth (ages 13-24) pricing for weeks where Lakeside is able to offer a reasonable amount of religious, educational, cultural and recreational programming. We intend to implement these prices starting Saturday, June 20, unless the State of Ohio’s directives force us to keep programming venues closed. We will communicate the change to this level of pricing at least two weeks prior to implementation.
- If Lakeside is able to reopen full venues and programming, then we would move back to our regular admission fees of $24.50 Daily Adult and $16.25 Daily Youth (ages 13-24). We will communicate the change to this level of pricing at least two weeks prior to implementation.
- Children age 12 & under and guests over the age of 90 are free.
- There will be no Peak July admission pricing and no premium Friday/Saturday pricing this summer.
Daily and Season Auto Passes, as well as Season Golf Cart Passes will remain unchanged, except there will be no higher Peak pricing in July:
- $13 Daily Auto (inside Lakeside gates), $7 Daily Auto (South Gate Parking Lot) and $2 (Danbury School Parking Lot). This pricing will start Memorial Day weekend, beginning Friday, May 22, and continue through Labor Day.
- $230 Season Auto (on/before May 31), $250 Season Auto (on/after June 1) and $205 Season Golf Cart
Adult and Youth Season Chautauqua Passes are still under consideration and will be communicated soon.
