Toys for Tots, the U.S. Marine Corps’ premier Community Action Program, is celebrating 78 years of bringing hope and joy to children in need. What began in 1947 with a hand-knitted doll has grown into the nation’s flagship children’s Christmastime charity. Since then, Toys for Tots has distributed over 708 million toys to more than 314 million children.
During this year’s Lakeside Christmas weekend, from Dec. 5-7, guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to drop off at the Toys for Tots collection box in the Fountain Inn Aigler Room. Toys will be collected through Friday, Dec. 12 in the Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office.
The toys, books and other gifts collected provide children with recognition, confidence and lasting positive memories. Thank you for helping make this holiday season brighter for children in our community.
