Power of the Pillars: Performing Arts

Catch a glimpse of this summer’s performing arts experiences as Matthew Charboneau, Lakeside’s Director of Performing Arts & Entertainment, provides an overview. He’ll highlight the marquee acts taking center stage at Hoover Auditorium and the Steele Memorial Bandstand.  

Before Lakeside, Charboneau served as Chair for the Center for Music at The Music Settlement in Cleveland. He has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, including the Beck Center for the Arts, COSE Arts Network, Roots of American Music and the Lakewood Public Library. 

Now a retired musician, he played professionally as an upright and electric bassist for 25+ years and has performed internationally playing jazz, folk, rock, bluegrass, rock, Americana, salsa and bossa nova music. 

Charboneau earned a Bachelor of Music in double bass performance from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and a Master of Nonprofit Organization from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
