Spring Leaf Pick Up will take place April 6-May 1. There is no set schedule. The Grounds Crew will monitor the streets daily and run the leaf truck as needed. Please place loose leaves in piles at the curb for collection. To ensure leaves are picked up safely and efficiently, please note the following:
The goal is to complete Leaf Pick Up in each area by mid-week, leaving Thursday and Friday for work in the parks and other Lakeside properties, weather permitting. Thank you for helping keep Lakeside a beautiful community.
- Place leaves in long, narrow piles along the edge of the road, ideally extending about one foot into the street. Leaves left in the yard or gravel cannot be collected, as they cannot be reached and gravel damages the machinery.
- Have piles ready by 8 a.m. Monday each week.
- Keep sticks separate from leaf piles. Sticks clog the intake hose, causing damage to the equipment.
- Place bush trimmings, annuals, ivy, perennials, walnuts, acorns and potted plants (such as fern baskets) in brown lawn refuse bags for regular trash pickup on Tuesdays. Bags are available at the Administration Office for $5 per pack of five.
- Leaves may also be bagged for regular trash pickup on Tuesdays.
- Leaf piles must contain leaves only. Large branches, walnuts, acorns and other yard waste will cause your pile being skipped, as these items slow down pickup and damage machinery
- After May 1, any remaining leaves must be bagged and set out with regular trash pickup.
