Volunteers are an essential part of creating the Lakeside experience. They give their time to welcome guests to Hoover Auditorium, help tend to the gardens, work on a task force or volunteer at special events.
You may not even know that some individuals you see working are volunteers! This summer, we’re working to make volunteerism more visible in the community and encouraging more Lakesiders to get involved.
On select days this spring, volunteers, staff and community members will be working hand in hand to prepare the grounds, open buildings and get Lakeside ready for the Chautauqua season. They’re called Lakeside Community Days and are a great way to meet new people while giving back
Below is a list of projects (subject to change, depending on the weather):
- 9 a.m.-12 p.m., April 24: Planting Gardens
- 9 a.m.-12 p.m., May 1: Hoover Auditorium & Orchestra Hall
- 9 a.m.-12 p.m., May 15: Waterfront, Bettinger Park & Rhein Center
Arrive at the Fountain Inn Aigler Room by 9 a.m. to enjoy grab-and-go breakfast snacks and receive instructions for the day’s projects. After a morning of hard work, return to the Aigler Room for lunch and fellowship.
