Victor Samalot Duo – "Latin Heart, Rock Soul, Jazz Spirit"
Cleveland guitarist Victor Samalot teams up with multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Bobbi Holt to form the Victor Samalot Duo. Their sets feature original music, inventive covers and improvisations blending instrumentals and classic vocal favorites with a Latin twist. Holt, longtime collaborator with Samalot, adds bass and vocals to his organic rhythms. A former co-founder of Rare Blend and creator of Mind Lab Music, she brings genre-crossing experience to the duo’s vibrant sound.
Samalot, Cleveland-born guitarist, fuses Latin grooves, jazz sophistication and a rock edge into a vibrant world-fusion sound. After leading the Jazz-Rock Fusion group Rare Blend (1995–2010), Samalot launched his solo project late 2010, captivating audiences year-round with dynamic improvisations and genre-defying flair. His work has earned radio airplay locally and worldwide, along with press coverage from All About Jazz, JazzReviews.com, 20th Century Guitar, Progression Magazine and more, culminating in the release of six notable musical works.
Holt is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Cleveland. She is returning to the stage with her long-time collaborator adding bass guitar to Samalot’s organic rhythmic vibe. Prior projects include producing ambient world music under the name Mind Lab Music, providing bass tracks to Samalot’s solo recordings and was co-founder of the Jazz Rock Fusion group Rare Blend as songwriter and keyboardist.
