To honor America’s 250th anniversary, Lakeside will show Ken Burns’ documentary, “The American Revolution.” The six-episode documentary examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down. This series is supported by Richard and Cheri Hahn.
Thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic Coast rose in rebellion, won their independence, and established a new form of government that radically reshaped the continent and inspired centuries of democratic movements around the globe.
An expansive look at the war’s virtues and contradictions and the birth of the United States of America, this documentary follows dozens of figures from a wide variety of backgrounds, from the Continental soldiers and American militiamen to the British Army officers and enslaved and free African Americans.
“The American Revolution: An Asylum for Mankind (May 1775–July 1776)" – Episode 2
