Historical interpreter and storyteller Betty Lou Higgins will speak about Ohio’s Alta Weiss, who pitched for a minor league men’s baseball team in the 1920s.
June 30: “The ABCs of Navigating Children Learning Challenges”
A panel discussion with Sally DePerro, Mercedes Wise, Jason DePerro and Jill Stephenson.
July 7: “An Intro to the Art & History of the Carousel”
Presented by Bonnie Behm of the Merry-Go-Round Museum in Sandusky, Ohio.
July 14: “What’s the Buzz about Beekeeping?”
An introduction to honeybees and beekeeping will be presented by Laura de Roziere, beekeeper and Ottawa County Director of the Sandusky River Valley Beekeepers Association.
July 21: The Janet Jennings Memorial Scholarships will be awarded and “Dining with the Presidents”
Presented by Janet Weir Creighton, a member of the White House staff under President George W. Bush.
July 28: “Protecting Your Personal Information in an AI World”
Presented by Lakeside’s own cybersecurity expert, Doug Huber.
Aug. 4: “Women Heroes from World War II”
Learn about three amazing women heroes from World War II: Pippa Latour, Virginia Hall and Charity Adams, presented by Julie Koenig.
Aug. 11: Annual LWC Members Luncheon at the Hotel Lakeside Dining Room, featuring celloist Carol Banyas and violinist Chris Kilbane.
Aug. 18: “Robert Frost: The Road Less Traveled”
Presented by theologian and historian Carol Zeh.
Aug. 25: End-of-Season Potluck and installation of new LWC board officers.
