Advent Study with Rev. Dr. Charles Yoost
Wednesdays, Nov. 30 & Dec. 7, 14 & 21 | 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Would you like to connect with Lakesiders across the miles during the “most wonderful time of the year?” If so, plan to take part in this year’s virtual Advent Study, led by the Rev. Dr. Charles Yoost, Lakeside Chautauqua’s Senior Director of Religious Life & Pastoral Care.

The 4-week study is based on the brand-new book, The Angels of Christmas, by Susan Robb. Whether or not you believe in the existence of divine beings who can assume human appearance, this study will assert that God reaches out to each of us through messengers. Each week it will focus on the angelic appearance to one or more of the characters in the Christmas Story: Zechariah (father of John the Baptist), Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men, and finally, the shepherds in the field.

We will explore how we go from being shepherds who receive the good news to angels who share it. How is God calling us to help allay the fears that are so rampant in our world today? Join Yoost each week for a lively and thoughtful presentation and discussion. Pre-registration required.
