About the International Learning Journey to Greece
Lakeside is partnering with our sister Chautauqua, Bay View Association in Michigan, to create a trip for lifelong learners seeking to deepen their spiritual and cultural understanding of Paul’s journey.

This 10-day tour is open to all, with your travel, meals and lodging thoughtfully planned so you can focus on connection, discovery and making memories with fellow Lakesiders, Lakeside Chautauqua President & CEO Charles Allen and new friends.

By traveling with our sister Chautauqua, we’ll strengthen our shared commitment to lifelong learning, connection and fellowship. There’s something truly special about experiencing a journey of this depth alongside new-found friends from Bay View, enriching the bonds between us and creating friendships that will extend far beyond our return Learn more.

Itinerary

  • Neapoli: One of Greece’s most picturesque ports, where Paul landed with his disciples, Silas and Timothy, marking the beginning of his travels in Greece.
  • Amphipolis: Home to the ruins of early Christian basilicas, offering insight into the early spread of Christianity.
  • Philippi: Site of the Roman-era crypt believed to have held Paul as a prisoner, bringing history vividly to life.
  • Meteora: A stunning natural wonder, where we’ll marvel at the famous “rock forest,” envisioning the challenging terrain Paul once crossed during his missionary travels.
  • Delphi: Known for its pagan influences, we’ll learn about the immense opposition Paul faced as he spread the Gospel of Christ.
  • Corinth: We’ll walk through these vibrant cities where Paul preached, exploring the Archeological Museum, the Marketplace and the temples to gain a richer context for his mission.
  • Athens: We’ll explore the Acropolis, the Propylaea, the Parthenon, and the Erechtheion and stand on the Mars Hill as the Apostle Paul did.
