Heidelberg Faculty Woodwind Quintet

Note: Due to high winds, this performance has moved to Hoover Auditorium. 

The Heidelberg Faculty Woodwind Quintet will perform “Winds in the Woods” at Hoover Auditorium Sunday, June 4 at 6 p.m. The group will play music inspired by nature, featuring music by Beethoven, Milhaud and a wonderful composition called “Five Frogs” by composer Jenni Brandon.

Lori Akins, Flute: Member of the faculty at Heidelberg, Wittenberg and Cedarville Universities. She is also a member of the Columbus and Springfield Symphonies.

Yuki Harding, oboe: Member of the faculty of the Oakland and Warren Symphony Orchestras and an active freelancer in Southeast Michigan
and Northern Ohio. She enjoys all performing, but some of her favorites are playing the English horn and working with the Detroit Opera and Toledo Symphony Orchestras.

Carrie Banfield-Taplin, horn: Member of the Detroit Opera Orchestra and Flint and Warren Symphonies. She is a faculty member at Heidelberg University and has a horn studio at the Cranbrook School in Detroit.

Christian Green, bassoon: is a member of the Ann Arbor and Lansing Symphonies. He is a busy freelance bassoonist and is nearly done with his DMA from Michigan State University.

Andrew Sprung is Adjunct Instructor of Clarinet at Hillsdale College, Adrian College and Siena Heights University. He is a member of the Traverse Symphony (Traverse City, Michigan) and Baroque on Beaver Island Festival Orchestra, and has performed with the Toledo Symphony, Lima Symphony, Dearborn Symphony and other area ensembles.
