Lakeside Garden Tour
The Lakeside Garden Tour celebrates the hard work and passion of residents, business owners and the Lakeside Grounds staff who love spending time in their gardens. Guests and residents are invited to experience these landscapes on a self-guided Garden Tour.
This year, the 19th Annual Garden Tour will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, showcasing various gardens across the Lakeside grounds.
During the tour, a Get Growing! gardening program will be held at the Train Station from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The featured speaker is Eric Barrett from Ohio State University speaking on “Hydrangeas in Your Landscape.” He will also answer your gardening questions.
Maps of featured gardens on the tour will be available at all Lakeside gate entrances, the Fountain Inn and Hotel Lakeside front desks and the Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office on the day of the event for tour attendees to explore the featured gardens on their own. Shuttle stops and restrooms are also featured on the maps.
Admission & Parking
Lakeside Chautauqua is a nonprofit organization that requires guests to purchase a Chautauqua Pass and Auto Pass to enter the grounds during the summer. Purchasing a Chautauqua Pass includes admittance to Lakeside’s grounds as well as access to Hoover Auditorium entertainment, the pool, wellness center, the Garden Show and a variety of Chautauqua experiences. Plus, a Chautauqua Pass is valid from the date of use until 7 p.m. the following day, which means passholders experience almost two days of summertime fun for the price of one.
Daily Chautauqua Passes start at $37 for adults, $17 for ages 13-21 and $5 for ages 5-12. Guests under the age of 4 and over the age of 90 enjoy free admission. An $8 Partial Day Pass (4 hours) is available but does not include access to Hoover Auditorium entertainment or the pool. Parking is an additional fee. Please note that the Partial Day Pass is only available to purchase at the gates upon entry.
Daily Auto Passes are $3/day to park at the nearby Danbury School Parking Lot (no shuttle service), $8/day to park at the South Gate Parking Lot (free shuttle service available from the South Gate) or $15/day to park inside the gates of Lakeside (free shuttle service available).
