A Religious Life Seminar on Christian Biographies, led by longtime Lakesider David Blank, will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 in the Train Station.
Blank will present and in depth look at “Lincoln’s Pastors.” President Abraham Lincoln is well-known for many things, but being a church member is not one of them. Yet, Lincoln was influenced and mentored by a number of pastors, some of whom became close friends, and others opponents.
Let’s look into the lives, careers and impact of a number of the clerics (men and women) from whom Lincoln learned, and in some cases sought advice and counsel.
Blank enjoys participating in Lakeside lectures and learning activities. He graduated from the University of Mount Union and followed that with a graduate degree in economics and a J.D. from Cleveland State University.
His career was in regulatory and financial positions with FirstEnergy Corp and its predecessor companies.
Blank has served as an Adjunct Professor at Tiffin University, the University of Akron and
the University of Mount Union, focusing on economics and finance topics.
Blank and his wife, Bonnie, are the parents of two adult children and the grandparents of two boys and a girl. Among other Lakeside activities, Blank currently serves as a member of the Lakeside Foundation Board and is the past chair of the Lakeside Association Board Finance Committee.
He is currently the co-chair with Jim Shelley of Lakeside’s Streets & Drainage Advisory Task Force.
The event is finished.
