Summer Closing Celebration
To cap Lakeside’s 151st Chautauqua season, the community will gather for the Summer Closing Celebration at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 in Hoover Auditorium.
The evening will begin with singing led by Chip Richter and John Wilkie. A colorful presentation of slides will follow, depicting highlights of the summer and featuring all four pillars: Religion, Education, Art sand Recreation.
The Lakeside Chautauqua Choir will provide special music, and Jane Marx, the Lakeside Association Board of Directors Chair, will be on hand to recognize the staff for all their hard work this summer that has benefited all of us.
The youth of Lakeside Chautauqua has created a “Blessing Box,” which will be shown and dedicated to Lakeside’s mission of giving beyond the gates and beyond the Chautauqua season.
Following a brief message from Lakeside Chautauqua President & CEO Charles Allen, focusing not only on the season that is rapidly coming to a close but also the future of Lakeside, all participants will be invited to light a candle of hope. As we sing together, Hoover Auditorium will become a beautiful sight with hundreds of candles shining in the darkness.
Although the summer is coming to an end, Lakeside remains a year-round destination for families and groups. Visit lakesideohio.com/calendar for upcoming fall and winter events.
