Do you ever wish you could lighten up a little and enjoy life more? In this Wellness Seminar led by Kathy Luhn, we’ll have fun exploring the science of how humor and laughter can benefit our bodies and our brains and how you can add more humor and laughter to your day.

“Humor” and “laughter” are often used interchangeably; however, they’re actually very different. The good news is they usually go hand-in-hand because laughter is our response to humor.

Humor can change how we think and feel – cultivating creativity, building social relationships and generating positive emotions. Laughter provides the physical impact. It can soothe the stress response in our bodies, boost our immune systems, provide pain relief and protect against heart disease.

After learning some of the science, you’ll have a chance to assess your personal humor style and experiment with a few laughter exercises.

We’ll end the session by designing your own “humor workout” to strengthen your resilience, flex your creativity and pivot your perspective to feel better and find more joy in life.

Luhn’s purpose is helping people create joy, better health and well-being in their own lives. Humor and creativity are key ingredients in her life and gifts she’s used in many ways while working, volunteering and raising a family.

She spent the core of her career in local public health. Her interest in humor and health led her to become a Certified Humor Professional and Certified Laughter Leader. In addition, Luhn is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES®), a Wellcoaches® Certified Health and Wellness Coach and a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and Registered Dietitian.

Enjoying how all her passions combine into promoting self-care, she brings a healthy dose of humor to the table, believing that those who laugh, last.

The event is finished.
