Spring is approaching, which means a flurry of activity to spruce up our yards and cottages. Lakeside Chautauqua shares a reminder that homeowners must submit plans to the Historic Preservation and Design Review Board (HP-DRB) for any physical changes to ensure they are in keeping with Lakeside’s heritage, character and our designation in the National Register of Historic Places.
Review is required for all external changes, including porches, decks, gazebos, windows, roofing, siding, fences, sheds, driveways, ornamentation, major landscaping, hardscape and removal of all or part of a building. For guidelines on what constitutes change, see Lakeside Association Rules and Regulations, Title 3: Historic Preservation and Design Review. When in doubt, call or email HP-DRB at 419-798-4461 ext. 244 or designreview@lakesideohio.com.
Our volunteer Historic Preservation and Design Review Board meets one Saturday each month from March to November. Spring Application deadlines are March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 9 for the succeeding month’s meeting. HP-DRB Applications, the full 2022 Calendar, Lakeside Rules and Regulations and additional resources can be found on our website here. Print copies are also available at the Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office.
