Lakeside Community

Lakeside Chautauqua is located along on the shores of Lake Erie in northwest Ohio and is part of the Chautauqua Trail. Our mission is “To enrich the quality of life for all people, to foster traditional Christian values and nurture relationships through opportunities for renewal and growth… spiritually, intellectually, culturally and physically… while preserving Lakeside’s heritage.”

Chautauqua Park

Chautauqua Park, located in south Lakeside on the corner of Poplar Avenue and Sixth Street, is one of four major parks in Lakeside. The 10-acres of land hosts a memorial garden and an extension of the nature/walking trail that borders Lakeside.

Lakeside Chautauqua in Bloom

While visiting Lakeside, you will find spectacular views and beauty across our one square-mile campus, which includes more than 900 Victorian cottages and 47 historic structures used for our summer Chautauqua program. In 2012, our beautiful community was named an America In Bloom Champion, standing out in volunteerism among other communities of similar size.

Community Organizations

Lakeside has many vibrant and active organizations, and we invite you to join one that shares your similar interests. Getting involved allows you to meet new people and stay connected in the community. Lakeside has organizations dedicated to sailing, wooden boats, the environment, tennis and many other passions. We invite you to explore the Community Organizations and learn about their activities.

Homeowners & Campground Updates

Homeowners and Campground residents are invited to visit our Homeowners & Campground Updates page throughout the year to stay up-to-date on happenings in the community.

Volunteering

Our team of dedicated volunteers play an intricate role in the success of our Chautauqua community. Volunteering enriches each one of us and brings a special meaning to our lives. Throughout campus, you will meet volunteers teaching classes at the C. Kirk Rhein, Jr., Center for the Living Arts, greeting guests at Hoover Auditorium or maintaining beautiful gardens. Get involved, and become part of an enriching community, meeting new friends along the way.
