Live Entertainment

Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes more than 75 concerts and shows each summer that vary from symphony orchestras and hip-hop dance crews to stand-up comedians and Grammy-winning vocalists. Live concerts and performances are featured throughout the summer in beautiful historic venues such as Hoover Auditorium and Orchestra Hall or outdoors at the Steele Memorial Bandstand and waterfront Pavilion.

Hoover Auditorium, located at 115 W. Third Street, boasts a celebrated history of famed musicians, entertainers and speakers who have graced the stage of this iconic hall since it was built in 1928. The likes of Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Ray Charles, Amy Grant and Three Dog Night have entertained crowds in the 2,600-seat auditorium.

Our summer entertainment series features a broad genre of music, dance, magic, comedy, presenters and more.

Lakeside Symphony Orchestra

From classical music to outstanding soloists, the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra (LSO) fills Hoover Auditorium with amazing rhythm in six summer concerts. The symphony is made up of professional musicians from across the country who gather in our Chautauqua community to perform great music in its purest form. Visit the calendar or see below for concert dates.

The LSO, established in 1963, is one of Lakeside’s most cherished traditions. Under the direction of Music Director & Conductor Daniel Meyer, the symphony brings classical music to guests of all ages presenting six concerts. Also performing will be guest musicians, including cellist Mingyao Zhao, pianist Maxim Lando, violinist Timothy Chooi, the Beo String Quartet, pianist Soyeon Kate Lee and vocalist Meghan Dewald.
