Denise Robinson, Director of Recreation
Denise Robinson is a mother of two adult children and “Nana” to three grandchildren.
In January 2025, she became the Director of Recreation after working as Lakeside’s Programming & Aquatics Coordinator for five years. Under her leadership, Lakeside earned the 2024 Safest & Cleanest Pool in the County award from the Ottawa County Health Department.
Robinson has over 30 years of aquatics, safety and recreation experience. She is an instructor in multiple levels of CPR/AED, Standard First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Babysitter’s Training Courses, Lifeguard, Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Lifeguard Instructor.
Her hobbies include crocheting (including creating patterns), volleyball and crafting.
Sean Gill, Recreation Program Coordinator
Supporting Robinson in the Recreation Pillar, Lakeside hired Gill as a part-time, seasonal full-time Recreation Program Coordinator in January 2025.
He is responsible for developing and implementing Recreation and Wellness programming for all ages and skill levels. This includes managing activities, events, classes and developing programming initiatives.
Gill grew up just outside Port Clinton, and his family has been involved with Lakeside for many years. Over 20 years ago, he proposed to his wife in front of Hotel Lakeside, and they were married at the gazebo.
Local history is very interesting to Gill, and he has led several lectures/tours about Lakeside and the surrounding area.
In 2020, he started the Lakeside 120 (a one-day, 121-mile bike ride from Delaware, Ohio, to the Lakeside gates) and looks forward to its sixth iteration this summer. Outside the summer season, Gill is a fifth-grade teacher and a professional DJ for local schools and special events – including Lakeside’s New Year’s Eve Donut Drop.

New this year, a handful of virtual sessions will be offered on weekdays over lunchtime.
Nurturing mind, body and spirit is at the heart of Lakeside recreation. The grounds of Lakeside encompass parks, pools and recreation courts, including shuffleboard, tennis and pickleball. Join us virtually for a sneak peek of tournaments, workshops and classes planned for 2025.
