CANCELLED: Blessing of the Fleet

Please note: The Blessing of the Fleet has been cancelled due to high winds. 

Lakeside’s Blessing of the Fleet takes place at 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday, June 30 on Lake Erie and the Dock. 

During this event, well-wishers gather to watch a procession of watercraft pass by as a blessing is given by Director of Religious Life & Pastoral Care, the Rev. Dr. Charles Yoost.  

The event includes a brief time of praise followed by prayers for boaters and boats alike, including wooden boats, large sailboats, Sunfish sailboats, powerboats, kayaks and canoes.

After the blessing, boats are invited to head out into the open waters. 

For Boaters
It may be difficult to hear the blessing from your boat. Therefore, boaters are invited to join the Zoom link on the day of the event to hear the blessing.
