Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone returns to the Hoover Auditorium stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. The legendary band will sing its most popular hits from the 1960s, including “I’m into Something Good,” “There’s a Kind of Hush” and “I’m Henry VIII, I Am.”

Noone, a multi-talented entertainer from Manchester, England, has been delighting sold-out audiences nearly all his life. At age 15, he achieved international fame as the lead singer of the English pop band Herman’s Hermits. The band sold more than 60 million recordings, with 14 singles and seven albums that went gold.

Rivaling The Beatles, the band was the top-selling pop act in 1965. That same year, they were nominated for two Grammy Awards for their song “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter.”

Noone left the band in 1971 to begin a solo career in singing, as well as acting. Over the years, he has composed and produced songs, performed lead roles in theatrical productions, such as Pirates of Penzance and Aladdin, starred on Broadway, and guest-starred on TV shows, such as “Married with Children,” “Quantum Leap,” “My Two Dads” and “Laverne & Shirley.” He has also voiced Adrian of the band Tiny Cowboy in the popular Disney Channel show “Phineas & Ferb.”

He returned to tour with Herman’s Hermits in the early 2000s. Noone has a loyal fan base known as the “Noonatics.”

Accompanied by his band, he continues to perform across the globe. Noone is a consummate showman who continues to entertain audiences of all ages.
