Join Sandusky Area Maritime Association Executive Director Molly Sampson as she brings the Women’s Army Corps (WACS) to life as part of our Historic Portrayal Series at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 17 in Orchestra Hall.

Step into Sampson’s shoes and experience the challenges, triumphs and sacrifices of the first women to enlist in the U.S. Army.

Through meticulous research, authentic uniforms and personal anecdotes, Sampson unveils the untold stories of WACS during World War II.

Dive into her portrayal of the training, assignments and homecoming experiences, providing a unique and intimate perspective on the struggles and resilience of these remarkable women.

Sampson’s background in living history started at a young age, and she grew up participating in American Revolution and War of 1812 reenactments before becoming a nationally certified 4-H Living History Instructor. She began participating in World War II reenactments in 2009.

Sampson has worked with a number of museums and organizations to provide educational programming.

In addition to living history, Sampson enjoys researching the WACS, Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) and sharing that information online through her website lipstickandwar.com and at academic conferences worldwide.
