LHS: Heritage Day

On Sunday, July 21, the Lakeside Heritage Society (LSH) will celebrate Lakeside’s history by hosting a fun event on Walnut Plaza in front of the Heritage Archives. The fun for all ages begins at 2 p.m. and includes the following:

The Cake & Ice Cream Social features a variety of cakes and bar cookies (brownies included) that can be paired with vanilla ice cream. Ice cream, cake and cookies will also be sold separately.

Face Painting will be offered for a donation.

Join in five rousing games of Bundt Cake Bingo! We will be crowning Lakeside Bundt Cake Royalty at 3 p.m. “She” will be calling the numbers and awarding her top five home-baked Bundt cakes of 2023.  (If you don’t know who will be crowned, ask around. Lots of lucky Lakesiders graciously tasted each of her weekly Bundt Cakes throughout the year.  She is one great baker! The cost of games is five for $5.00

If you are familiar with “Antiques Roadshow,” you will love our live version, which we are calling “What’s It Worth?” Bring your special collectible, prized possession or unique object for our very own professional auctioneer, Steve Bemiller, to examine and offer his opinion/expertise in exchange for a $5 donation.

The LHS is pleased to be collaborating with the Lakeside Environmental Stewardship Society (LESS) to host an environmentally friendly event. The organization will host a sustainability tent where member volunteers will demonstrate proactively disposing of food and compostable products.

We extend our gratitude to LESS members who are privately funding and donating boxed water and compostable paper products to support Heritage Day. The group would be pleased if you would stop by to ask your sustainability questions.

Please bring cash. Credit cards cannot be processed at this event. In case of rain, Heritage Day will be moved to the tents located in front of Hotel Lakeside.
