In conjunction with the Mike Albert & the Big “E” Band’s show in Hoover Auditorium, Lakeside will feature the movie “Elvis” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. This movie is free of charge, but Lakeside Chautauqua values donations to support these types of extended season programs.

“Elvis” is a 2022 biographical drama film that explores the life and music of Elvis Presley, starring Austin Butler, Oscar winner Tom Hanks and Olivia DeJonge.

Elvis’s (Butler) story is seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). As told by Parker, the film delves into the complex dynamic between the two spanning men spanning over 20 years, from Elvis’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, wife Priscilla. (PG-13, 2h 39 m)
