The Plein Air Art Festival returns Friday, July 12 and runs through Sunday, July 14. More than 30 artists from across the Midwest will set up easels across the Lakeside community to paint outdoor landscapes. Throughout the weekend, all are invited to watch the artists paint.

Paintings completed throughout the weekend will be available for purchase during the Wet Paint Sale, held on Sunday, July 14, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. south of the Pavilion. Purchases can be made with cash, check or credit card.

Kids can paint by donation from 1-3 p.m. south of the Pavilion.

ARTIST REGISTRATION
This year, we’re making an effort to return to the original concept behind the Plein Air Art Festival: paintings should depict the beauty of the three-day event which concludes in a collaborative effort that brings together artists’ creative expression with the skillfully crafted wooden boats at the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show & Plein Air Art Festival on Sunday, July 14. VIEW RULES & GUIDELINES.

To honor the original concept, we’re asking that the paintings for sale must be of Lakeside and have been painted during the event. Pieces done from previous Lakeside Plein Air Art Festivals are also permitted. No studio works, prints or outside Lakeside paintings can be for sale. All transactions for the art sale must be conducted through Lakeside Chautauqua. Artists are only permitted to sell artwork during the Wet Paint Sale from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14.

All artists selected to participate will receive a complimentary Daily Chautauqua Pass to enter Lakeside Chautauqua for the weekend. REGISTER NOW!
