Lakeside Chautauqua is a nonprofit organization and year-round destination for all ages. At the heart of the Lakeside experience, and what sets it apart from a typical vacation, is our summer Chautauqua programming season – a perfect balance to nurture mind, body and spirit. Choose from any combination of religion, education, cultural arts and recreation programming.
To provide you with quality entertainment, preachers, speakers, recreation, children’s activities and family programs throughout the summer and to maintain our grounds and historic facilities year-round, Lakeside requires guests and residents to purchase a Chautauqua Pass and Auto Pass.
2025 Chautauqua Passes
Guests and residents must purchase a Chautauqua Pass and Auto Pass to enter the grounds between May 24-September 2, 2024. Purchasing a Chautauqua Pass includes admittance to Lakeside’s grounds as well as access to Hoover Auditorium entertainment, the Pool, Wellness Center and a variety of Chautauqua experiences.
Plus, your Chautauqua Pass is valid from the date of entry until 7 p.m. the following day, which means you get to experience almost two days of summertime fun for the price of one. Learn more about the value of your Chautauqua Pass.
There are a variety of Chautauqua Passes and Auto Passes to choose from depending on the length of your visit. Children ages 4 & under and guests ages 90 & over enjoy free admission. Download the Admissions & Parking Fee FAQ Document.
The Fifth Street Gate is now cashless/credit card only. Cash will be accepted at the South Gate and Welcome Center. Also at the Fifth Street Gate, there will be fast pass lanes for online/prepaid Chautauqua Passholders and Season Chautauqua Passholders. Order your passes online before you arrive. A dedicated lane will also be available for those purchasing passes at the gates5
Using your Chautauqua Pass
Barcode Scanning
Lakeside will continue scanning barcodes printed on Daily and Weekly Chautauqua Passes upon entering and exiting the gates of Lakeside like the previous year. Season Chautauqua Passes will not be scanned. Passes are required for entry to Hoover Auditorium and the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus Pool.
Entering & Exiting
Please present your Chautauqua Pass to be scanned by the gate attendant when entering and exiting the gates of Lakeside. Passes are required for entry to Hoover Auditorium entertainment and the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus Pool. Guests can present Chautauqua Passes and Auto Passes from their mobile devices or a printed pass.

Auto Passes
An Auto Pass is required from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.To help with congestion and continue our high safety standards, Lakeside offers three different parking options and fees: inside the gates, at the South Gate Parking Lot and Danbury School Parking Lot. The Danbury School Parking Lot is available for parking from May 25-Aug. 25, 2024. Upon receiving your Auto Pass, please place it in the lower left corner of your windshield. The Safety Services Department will check Auto Passes as part of their daily routine.

Will Call
Will Call, for prepaid Chautauqua Passes and Auto Passes, is located inside the Welcome Center (near the Route 163/South Gate Parking Lot) on weekends, the South Gate on weekdays, and the Fifth Street Gate when the South Gate is closed. Please note: there is no drive-thru window at the Welcome Center. Short-term parking is located outside the building. Please use the stairs or ramp from the South Gate Parking Lot to pick up Passes from the desk attendant.

At Gate Exclusive Passes
These passes are only available at the gate, not online. There are a variety of Chautauqua Passes and Auto Passes to choose from depending on the length of your visit. Guests ages 4 & under and over the age of 90 enjoy free admission.
A $10 Partial Day Pass, valid for 4 hours, is available to purchase at the gates. A Partial Day Pass does not include an Auto Pass or access to Hoover Auditorium entertainment or the Grindley Aquatic Wellness Campus Pool and Wellness Center. This pass is available for purchase at the Fifth Street Gate and South Gate upon entry (not online) and must be purchased before 7 p.m. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee upon departure.
This pass is valid for 2 hours and must be validated/stamped by the manager of the business establishment. If this is not completed, or if the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee upon departure.
Church Pass: This pass is available from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday; valid until 1 p.m. The Church Pass includes admittance for guests and auto. This pass must be presented to the gate attendant upon departure. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee.
Faith for Living Hour Pass: This pass is available from 8:30-9 a.m. Monday-Thursday (when Faith for Living is offered); valid until 1 p.m. The Faith for Living Hour Pass includes admittance for guests and auto. This pass must be presented to the gate attendant upon departure. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee.
Tuesday Vespers Pass: This pass is available from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday (when Vespers is offered); valid until 9 p.m. The Tuesday Vespers Pass includes admittance for guests and auto. This pass must be presented to the gate attendant upon departure. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee.
Thursday Roman Catholic Mass Pass: This pass is available from 6-6:30 p.m. Thursday (when Roman Catholic Mass is offered); valid until 9 p.m. The Roman Catholic Mass Pass includes admittance for guests and auto. This pass must be presented to the gate attendant upon departure. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee.
Sunday Sunset Praise Pass: This pass is valid 7:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday (when Sunset Praise is offered); valid until 10 p.m. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto. This pass must be presented to the gate attendant upon departure. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee.
Short-Term Complimentary Passes are available upon entry at the gates and for a variety of events and activities (for example, dropping off luggage at the hotel). Passes must be scanned upon entering and exiting the Lakeside gates. Please note that Complimentary Passes do not include access to Hoover Auditorium entertainment or the Grindley Aquatic Wellness Campus Pool and Wellness Center. If the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee upon departure. Other conditions and Auto Passes may apply.

Discounted Gift Cards
Discounted gift cards are available for purchase by Adult Season Passholders from the Hoover Ticket Office. Adult Season Passholders may purchase up to three (3) discounted $200 gift cards at $170 each for a savings of 15% equaling a $30 bonus per gift card.
- The gift cards are redeemable for all Lakeside Chautauqua ticket and pass purchases.
- Gift cards do not expire.

Standard (Non-Discounted) Gift Cards not contingent on season pass purchases are available at the Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office year-round and are redeemable exclusively for ticket and pass purchases.
