Have you ever wanted to learn to sail in a supportive, adults-only environment? The Women on Water (W.O.W.) Sailing Program at Lakeside offers adult women the opportunity to build sailing skills, gain confidence on the water and enjoy the beauty of Lake Erie.
Open to women ages 18+, the program welcomes both beginners and those looking to expand their sailing knowledge. No prior sailing experience or athletic background is required.
Participants receive hands-on instruction with opportunities to sail independently throughout the summer. Classes are led by Celeste Cook Williams, a highly experienced sailing instructor and former U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Master Captain. She is also co-founder of the Lakeside Sailing Center (established in 1977) and founder of the W.O.W. Sailing Program (established in 2016).
Certified by U.S. Sailing, the program provides high-quality instruction that follows nationally recognized sailing standards.
Whether you’re trying something new, developing a lifelong skill or simply looking for a unique way to experience Lake Erie, W.O.W. offers a fun and empowering introduction to sailing.
