Whether on your own or together with a partner, boat rentals offer a unique water experience. Bring your own sailboat or rent one of ours and enjoy a day out on the lake.
Families, individuals, and groups of all ages are welcome to join in the fun and experience the freedom of the open water. Set sail, learn something new, and make memories that will last a lifetime at Lakeside Ohio!
Rental rates apply for the second watercraft rental in the same timeslot. Society of Old Salts (S.O.S.) members may rent only one watercraft at a time per membership, at no cost; a two-hour maximum applies.

Watercraft rentals have a 2-hour maximum time limit and must be reserved in advance.
Please note that the Waterfront Rental Center is closed from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Guests are welcome to swim, fish or bring their own kayaks, paddleboards or sailboats to enjoy the water at their own leisure. For additional information, call (419) 798-4461, ext. 266.

Summer/Winter Boat Storage
To store your boat during the summer or winter at the Lakeside Sailing Center, ask for a Boat Storage Agreement at the Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office. Submit with payment to: Lakeside Chautauqua, Attn: Watercraft, 236 Walnut Ave., Lakeside, Ohio 43440.
SAILING CLASSES | $99 per week
The Lakeside Sailing Center offers weekly Level I & II Sailing Classes from June 24-July 29, 2024. Classes are for ages 10+ and taught by U.S. Sailing-certified instructors on Optis and Sunfish watercraft. Participants must be comfortable swimming in the open lake away from the shore and must pass a water comfort check and capsize drill on the first day of class.
Level I (Beginner) Classes: 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday-Friday: This class covers the fundamentals of sailing terminology, wind, steering, boat care, crew responsibilities, seamanship and safety.
Level II (Intermediate): 8:30-10 a.m., Monday-Friday: In this class, sailors should already know how to rig a sailboat and be able to handle a boat on all points of sail independently. This class builds on the basics with students learning the finer points of boat handling and sail theory. There’s an emphasis on developing confidence for independent sailing and learning currents, weather, racing rules of sailing and more.

PRIVATE LESSONS | $60 per lesson

W.O.W. SAILING CLASSES | $150 per week
Level 1/Beginner: 11:30 a.m., June 24-28, 2024
Women on Water (W.O.W.) offers Level 1/Beginner Sailing Classes for women. Each session includes five days of classroom and on-water instruction and is certified through the U.S. Sailing Association. Classes are instructed by Celeste Cook Williams, a U.S. Coast Guard Near Coastal Master Captain, sailing teacher veteran, and co-founder of the Lakeside Sailing Center. Cost is $150 for the week. KIDS SETTING SAIL | Free
For decades, the love of sailing has been handed down from generation to generation. This free program offered by members of S.O.S. on Sundays from 2:30-4:30 p.m. is for children ages 5-10. Weather permitting, this program is offered weekly during the summer. Those participating are given Sunfish boat rides courtesy of veteran sailors.
