Swimming Lessons
Lakeside is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable pool experience for all. Our certified instructors offer free Swim Lessons during the summer for ages 12 & under.
Children's Swim Test
To ensure the safety of our community and in following Red Cross recommendations for pool operations, Lakeside requires children under age 13 to perform a brief swim test. This test is offered at announced times throughout the summer or during Open Swim times and will be required for children to swim in the deep end of the pool.
The test includes jumping into the water to fully submerge and return to the surface, swimming the length of the pool using front crawl and returning on your back while keeping your legs horizontal the entire time, and treading water for 30 seconds. Children who pass the swim test will have their names logged for the entire summer at the Pool Office and will receive a wristband each time they enter.
Lifeguards reserve the right to swim test anyone at their own discretion. For more information about the children’s swim test, call the Pool Office in-season at (419) 702-7598.
