The Plein Air Art Festival returns July 17-19. Artists from across the Midwest will set up easels throughout the Lakeside community to capture outdoor landscapes in real time. Guests are invited to stroll the grounds and watch the creative process unfold all weekend long.
Finished works will be available for purchase during the Wet Paint Sale on Sunday, July 19, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., south of the Pavilion. Purchases may be made by cash, check or credit card. Please note that the Gaga Ball pit and the west Basketball Court will be closed during this time to help protect and showcase the artwork.
Kids are also invited to create their own art by donation from 1:30-3:30 p.m., south of the Pavilion.
ARTIST REGISTRATION
This year, we continue our focus on returning to the festival original inspiration: artwork that reflects the beauty and spirit of the three-day event, culminating in a collaborative celebration that connects artists’ interpretations with the handcrafted wooden boats featured at the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show on Sunday, July 19. VIEW RULES & GUIDELINES.
To honor this vision, all artwork offered for sale must depict Lakeside and be created during the event. Works from previous Lakeside Plein Air Festivals are also permitted. Studio pieces, prints and artwork created outside Lakeside may not be sold. All sales must be processed through Lakeside Chautauqua, and artists may only sell artwork during the Wet Paint Sale from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19.
Accepted artists will receive a complimentary Daily Chautauqua Pass to enter Lakeside Chautauqua for the weekend. REGISTER NOW!
