Experience the magic of classic cinema as renowned organist Clark Wilson returns to Hoover Auditorium on Tuesdays — June 30, July 14 and Aug. 11 — to accompany silent film screenings. The Silent Movie Night Series is supported by Peter & Debbie Stephens.
On Aug. 11, enjoy Buster Keaton’s 1925 “Seven Chances.” Financial broker Jimmie Shannon is nearly bankrupt when an attorney presents him with his grandfather’s will, which leaves him $7 million. But to inherit the money, Jimmie must get married before 7 p.m. on his 27th birthday that day.
About Clark Wilson
Widely regarded as one of America’s foremost silent-film accompanists, Wilson performs exclusively on the organ, creating historically authentic scores in the tradition of the silent-film golden age. His masterful improvisations bring classic films vividly to life, as audiences would have experienced them a century ago.
Since launching his scoring career in 1980, Wilson has toured extensively across North America, presenting hundreds of screenings at universities, performing arts centers, theaters, film festivals and conventions.
His distinguished career includes invitations to perform for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
