An evening of legendary songwriting comes to Lakeside as Grammy-winning country music artist Rodney Crowell takes the stage to perform his greatest hits.

With 15 No. 1 songs to his name, Crowell has given us classics such as "Shame on the Moon," "When the Blue Hour Comes," "I Couldn’t Leave You If I Tried" and "After All This Time." His deeply personal "It Ain’t Over Yet" has become an anthem of resilience for longtime fans.

A native Texan and multi-Grammy Award winner, Crowell is widely regarded as the songwriter’s songwriter. His work has been recorded by Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Keith Urban, and his literary style has produced songs embraced by artists as varied as Bob Seger, Etta James, the Grateful Dead, John Denver and Jimmy Buffett.

With more than 40 years of American roots music to his name, Crowell has helped shape the sound of modern Americana. A member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and author of the acclaimed memoir Chinaberry Sidewalks, he also collaborated with New York Times best-selling author Mary Karr for Kin: Songs by Mary Karr & Rodney Crowell.

In 2017, he received the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Founder’s Award and released Close Ties, which earned a Grammy nomination for “It Ain’t Over Yet,” recorded with Rosanne Cash and John Paul White in the category of Best Americana Song.

His 2019 album Texas featured collaborations with Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Dunn and Steve Earle, and his most recent release, Triage, debuted in 2021.

Crowell emerged during Nashville’s songwriting heyday alongside Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt and Steve Earle, carrying forward a legacy of camaraderie and creativity that continues to influence generations of artists. As many fans say, your favorite song was probably written by Rodney Crowell.
