5K Raccoon Run & One-Mile Fun Run

Walkers, joggers and runners of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the 42nd Annual 5K Raccoon Run & One Mile-Fun Run. This year, set a new personal record as you wind through the streets of Lakeside or enjoy a leisurely stroll with your grandkids.

The 5K Raccoon Run begins at 8 a.m., followed by the One-Mile Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $35 for the 5K Raccoon Run is $35 and $20 for the Fun Run. Register online.

Registration after July 30 will be considered “day of race” registration. T-shirts are not included but may be purchased for an additional $10 while supplies last. On the day of the race, you can register between 7-7:30 a.m. in the Fountain Inn Aigler Room.

The racecourse starts at the corner of Second Street and Walnut Avenue and ends on Third Street in front of Hoover Auditorium. Some street intersections will be barricaded during both events. Awards will be given immediately following the race.

The Raccoon Run is one of Lakeside’s most popular annual recreation events. In fact, there are some runners who boast having run the 5K for more than 20 years, with collectible T-shirts to prove it.
