Beginner Fencing (Ages 12-18)

In this two day introductory class, participants will fence with actual fencing equipment (non-electric). Classes are July 15-16 from 3:45-5 p.m. in the Wellness Center Drackett Hall.

Activities will include training in strength, balance, coordination, weight distribution and footwork leading up to concepts of fighting: distance, timing and execution of more complicated fencing actions appropriate for this age group. History of fencing, Olympic Fencing and competitive vs. recreational fencing will be discussed.

Dress code: tennis shoes, T-shirt, shorts or sweatpants (preferred)

*Following completion of this class, participants will be eligible to register for the All Lakeside Fencing Tournament, Friday July 19.

Registration

Pre-registration is required at lakesideohio.com/registration, and the cost for the two days is $34/person. Please note that registration does not include admission and parking fees that are required to enter the Lakeside grounds.
