Concert in the Park: Blue Lunch

Blue Lunch is a nine-piece band with multiple vocalists and a three-piece horn section that has been performing its brand of blues, soul, New Orleans rhythm and blues and jazz throughout the region for nearly 40 years. They will return to the Steele Memorial Bandstand at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11

Blue Lunch has performed at numerous clubs, community concerts and festivals, including the Tri-C JazzFest, Pittsburgh Blues Festival and Columbus Jazz & Blues Festival. The group has appeared at iconic Northeast Ohio venues, like Nighttown, The Bop Stop and the Beachland Ballroom. They have entertained crowds at Lakeside several times.

Blue Lunch has produced eight albums, including Saxophone Shootout II, Live at Nighttown, which was voted one of the top five independently produced CDs at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

The band is always evolving musically and is excited to welcome newest members: guitarist/vocalist Billy Seward, who moved to the area from Florida, and 30-year-old soulful vocalist Maya Nicholson.
