CHARLES ALLEN | “Hope & the Role Church has Shaped Social Justice”

Charles AllenCharles Allen, Lakeside COO, will discuss “Hope & the Role Church has Shaped Social Justice” at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23 at Orchestra Hall. His lectures close out Chautauqua Lecture Series’ “Social Justice Week.”

Things are changing, but we still have work to do: faith, hope, love and action will bring healing to old wounds. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “It’s appalling that the most segregated hour of Christian America is 11 o’clock on Sunday morning.” Although many of our houses of worship still remain segregated, things are beginning to change.

Charles Allen is an executive leader with a demonstrated history in church and ministry leadership, business and nonprofit organizational leadership, teambuilding, training and coaching. He was the lead coach at Rethink U Group, a business that provides individualized life coaching and empowerment techniques. He is the founder of Empower 1 Community Transformation, Inc. Allen is also the owner of Noble Hearts Homes, LLC, which works to provide homes for those who may be in addiction recovery or who may have mental illness. He is the former Sr. Vice President of Cherry Street Missions, the largest homeless recovery program in Northeast Ohio. He now serves as Lakeside Chautauqua’s COO.

The event is finished.
