“Checkers: Lakeside’s Forgotten Recreational Pursuit”

Join Lakesider Mark Moffett for a lecture on the rich history of Checkers at Lakeside on Monday, Aug. 14 at 3:30 p.m. in the Fountain Inn Aigler Room.

Moffett will bring you back in time with his lecture highlighting the history of Checkers as a central part of recreation programming for 33 years at Lakeside. Checkers Grandmaster and National Champion Richard Beckwith will join him to highlight the high level of skill of various Ohio checker players and challenge the audience to an interactive match and other Checkers’ problems.
