Classic Movie: “West Side Story” (2021)
On select Mondays during the summer, Orchestra Hall will feature a free classic movie at 7:30 p.m.
This week’s movie is “West Side Story,” starring Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler and directed by Steven Spielberg. (PG-13, 2h 36m)
The 2021 revival of the beloved musical in which a modern-day Romeo and Juliet are involved in New York street gangs. Love, at first sight, strikes when young Tony spots Maria at a high school dance in 1957 New York City. Their burgeoning romance helps to fuel the fire between the warring Jets and Sharks—two rival gangs vying for control of the streets.
