Dahlia Talk

Lakeside resident Dwight King will be sharing his delightful dahlia garden at 704 Oak Avenue (at Seventh Street) on Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 11-11:30 a.m.

A feast for the eyes, King has planted 50 dahlia tubers, featuring 30 different shapes of flowers (petals) that range in size from a few inches to 11” across and 2’ high to about 6’ high. His garden shows off a variety of different colors and heights.

There are about 40,000 different varieties of dahlias worldwide. King will cover information on how to plant the tubers and care for them both during the growing season and how to dig them up and store them for Lakeside’s harsh winters.
