Keynote Speaker: Debra Knapke

To close Lakeside’s popular Keynote Speaker Series, Debra Knapke, horticulturalist, author and owner of The Garden Sage, will take center stage in Hoover Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15.

Knapke designed many areas in Columbus, including the Heritage Garden at the Governor’s Residence and the Wetlands Project at Sharon Meadows Park.

Her lectures inform, share and entertain about subjects integral to her life. Speaking at venues throughout North America, her talks cover a wide range of topics, including Edible Ornaments: The Marriage of Use and Beauty, Simplifying Your Garden Without Diminishing Your Joy, Tea & Tranquility, and Garden Design Informed by Ecology & Place.

Knapke earned master’s degrees in horticulture and speech/language pathology and a bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing science with a minor in vocal music performance from Ohio State University.
