LHS Lecture: The Great Temperance Resort

On Sunday, July 9, join the Lakeside Heritage Society (LHS) for their seminar “The Great Temperance Resort,” led by LHS member Dave Boling, taking place at 1:30 p.m. in Orchestra Hall.

Lakeside was a welcoming place for the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, The Non-Partisan WCTU, The Good Templars, and the Anti-Saloon League. In addition, there were Prohibition Party gatherings, temperance camp meetings and educational conferences. It was the passion of our founders, especially S.R. Gill, and it provided a sense of mission to Lakeside’s summer community.
