Movie: “Shrek”

Orchestra Hall enjoys the distinction of being the only movie theater on the Marblehead Peninsula and Ottawa County. It is a historic theater to watch new and classic films.

Lakeside will feature the movie “Shrek” at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30. The movie is free, but Lakeside Chautauqua values donations to support these types of programs.

This American animated fantasy comedy film is loosely based on the 1990 children’s picture book of the same name by William Steig. A mean lord exiles fairytale creatures to the swamp of a grumpy ogre. Shrek, the ogre, must go on a quest to rescue a princess for the lord to get his land back.

The film features the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow. (PG, 1h 30m)
