The Chozen Few

The Chozen Few, an energetic and seasoned band, is back by popular demand following two amazing shows at Lakeside Chautauqua in 2021. These talented professionals, musicians and vocalists will put on a show like no other from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, July 3 at the Steele Memorial Bandstand.

Entertaining crowds for decades, The Chozen Few is an explosion of musical entertainment with a set list that spans every genre – pop, rock, country, Motown and more.

Ralph Johnson is the heart and soul of the band. One of the founding members, Ralph has taken the wheel and continues to drive the band to new levels. His drums provide the sound with rhythm, but his vocals, showmanship and spontaneous reggae mixes bring the “wow” moments to every performance.

Mahlika Hale is The Chozen Few’s leading vocalist. Her unique sound is powerful yet soft and sultry; and her voice and stage presence are front and center.

Jeff Johnson joined the band in early 2011 and has brought a new flair and attitude. As Musical Director, Jeff keeps the band together and always moving in the right direction. He is a full-time musician who has been playing in bands his entire life.

The wild sax man, Billy Wall’s solos are legendary. Give him a bar and he’ll take four more, then the crowd will ask for another round. Wall’s forte is sax, but he also plays drums, bass guitar and a variety of other horns.

Terry Milliner has been around music all his life, including church choirs, plays, recording, writing and his latest endeavor… producing. Milliner joined the band in 2011 and has added a whole new guitar dimension. He has played in bands and shows throughout the northeastern U.S.
