The Underground/ Teen Center Special Events

The Underground, also known as the Teen Center, is a summer gathering place in the Lower Pavilion Room for ages 13-18. From June 8-August 10, it’s open 7-11 p.m. daily (except July 4).

Unless otherwise noted, special events for teens will take place at The Underground from 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays from June 12-August 7, unless otherwise noted. View the schedule below and follow @undergroundlksd on Instagram for updates.

JUNE 12: Family Feud
One hundred people were surveyed… Play this classic game with other teens. You don’t need to bring your family to play, just bring yourself.

JUNE 19: Impossible Putt Putt
This is no ordinary game of miniature golf. Each hole at the miniature golf course in Bettinger Park will present a different offbeat obstacle with a prize. There will be plenty of challenges and fun. A prize will be awarded for the Best Golf Costume.

JUNE 26: Photo Scavenger Hunt
Bring your phone or camera to take pictures of crazy things around Lakeside. Scavenger lists and rules will be available at The Underground starting at 7 p.m. Participation prizes will be awarded.

JULY 3: Movie at Orchestra Hall
Meet at Orchestra Hall for a private showing of “Back to the Future.” The movie starts at 10 p.m. Candy will be provided.

JULY 10: Karaoke 
Make your Lakeside singing debut at The Underground! There will be karaoke on the stage with lots of candy.

JULY 17: Game Night
Bring a board game or play one of The Underground’s. The fun begins at 7 p.m. and lasts until the last game is played. Ice cream treats will be available. Bring a friend!

JULY 23: Movie at Orchestra Hall
Meet at Orchestra Hall for a private showing of “Napoleon Dynamite” on Tuesday night. The movie starts at 10 p.m. Candy will be provided.

JULY 24: Lakeside Blessing Box Benefit – Comedy Show
Lakeside teens are hosting a Benefit Comedy Show at 9 p.m. in Orchestra Hall. The improv group Scriptless in Seattle is returning to Lakeside for this special performance. Donations from the event will be used to construct a Blessing Box that will be placed on the Marblehead Peninsula.

JULY 31: Campfire & S’mores on the Beach
Bring a blanket and/or chair and join friends at the Lakeside beach for a campfire and s’mores. If you play the guitar, ukelele or another instrument, bring it!

AUG. 7: Miniature Golf Under the Stars
Bring a friend for a FREE game of golf at the miniature golf course in Bettinger Park. Afterwards, come back to The Underground to sip on Arnold Palmers and eat snacks.
